The MOW Spokane Care Management team provides client oversight in order to identify risks before they become problems and helps to connect people with social and community support systems to strengthen their health and well-being.
We serve Ensure Plus, Glucerna (diabetic), and Carnations Instant Breakfast, all of which are available to individuals over 60 years of age who have a prescription from their Physician.
We give emergency pantry items to provide nutrition to our seniors who are without food and have no access to a food bank.
After finding out that many seniors were still going hungry because they were sharing their meals with their pets, Meals on Wheels Spokane found a solution. A supplemental pet food program geared towards helping provide nutrition to a clients dogs and cats. For more information, please click here.
Join us in keeping all our seniors cool and safe from suffering this summer! Your donations will provide a welcome relief for a home bound senior from the pressing heat of summer. Demand is high this year as more seniors than ever are isolating in their homes to stay healthy.
We partnered with the Spokane Public Library in order to provide reading, music, and movie materials to homebound clients.
We surprise our seniors with a special gift on their birthday that our volunteers deliver along with a birthday card.
We provide our seniors with sentimental cards/baskets to help spread holiday cheer. Holidays include: Valentine’s Day, Easter, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
Designed to help combat social isolation, we partner clients with a friend who they can visit with and/or write to on a regular basis. Volunteers can choose to connect with seniors either by writing letters, or by committing to weekly phone calls. Pen Pals are a great project for people with school-aged children!
The Friend-to-Friend program used to allow for people to meet in person, but we had to reduce it to phone calls during COVID
